Dinosaur Island: Extreme/Xtreme Edition

Several years ago, scientists discovered a way to clone dinosaurs from viable DNA preserved within the fossil record. Today, it's the museums that have gone practically extinct, as shrewd investors have turned those initial dinosaur sanctuaries into bustling theme parks, true meccas for dino fans the world over. After a few mishaps along the way, the process has stabilized.

In Dinosaur Island, each player takes on the role of a park manager at one of these premier destinations. You've been handed the reins to a burgeoning operation - bring the fantastic creatures of the Jurassic, Triassic, and Cretaceous periods forward into the modern day. Early retirement is yours if you can make your park bigger and better than the competition!

The Xtreme Edition of Dinosaur Island contains a wealth of components to enhance the gameplay experience. These include 10 translucent amber DNA dice, 1 translucent purple DNA die, and 17 dino recipe tiles. The game also features 63 dinosaur meeples in 9 different types (Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Pterodactyl, Velociraptor, T-Rex, Spinosaurus, Parasaurolophus), as well as 22 specialists and 36 worker meeples.

The game's components are further bolstered by 4 double-thick recessed lab boards, 30 attraction tiles, and 12 wooden beakers (which can be upgraded to the cardboard scientists). The Xtreme Edition also includes 81 income tokens ($1 x 53, $5 x28), 39 objective cards, and a silk-screened cloth bag.

Additionally, the game features 87 visitor meeples (70 patrons, 10 hooligans, and 7 VIPs), 14 plot twist cards, 12 modifier tokens, and 20 corporation tokens. The game also includes a research board, a track board, a marketplace board, and 4 park boards, as well as 40 marker cubes and 24 limit cubes.

The Xtreme Edition also comes with a "fast pass" slap bracelet (which can be upgraded to the first player token), 33 lab upgrade tiles, 29 paddock tiles, and 17 solo play cards. For those who want to further enhance the game, the Xtreme Edition also includes metal coins as an upgrade to the income tokens, as well as bonus tokens.
